When the financial crisis of 2008 struck, it became obvious that a quantitative, emotionless approach to asset management was the clearest path to success in the modern market. After spending time at Ameriprise Financial and as a Senior Quant Analyst at Columbia Threadneedle, Chris Shuba focused on developing mathematical models that could help financial advisors mitigate the volatility of the market.
In 2014, Shuba joined Westlake, Grahl & Glover where he put to use a series of algorithms he designed. These models were met with immediate interest by a broad range of clients, and within the year, financial advisors nationwide were clamoring for access to his algorithms.
Soon thereafter, he founded Helios Quantitative, LLC. Shuba is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Helios. As of August 2018, Helios influences the assets of advisors that collectively manage over $19 billion.
In 2019, Chris Shuba and a team of Financial Advisors, Attorneys, and Estate Planners created Helios Integrated Planning (HIP) to address a need that most Financial Advisors have - to affordably expand their services... and... provide more value to clients.
Shuba holds a BS in business finance and law from the Opus School of Business at the University of St. Thomas, and holds a FINRA Series 7, and has completed the Level 1 CFA.
Michael Bennett, J.D.
Since working in the estate planning industry since 2005, Mike owes a lot of his success to the financial advisors he worked with over that time. In May 2018, Chris Shuba and Mike began discussing how to make financial advisors true partners in the estate planning process, and enable them to expand their service models, provide more value to their clients, and position them at the center of the client relationship.
Mike uses his legal and tax background to effectively assist clients in the estate planning process. He has prepared thousands of comprehensive estate plans. Mike is passionate about charitable giving – his clients have given over $200,000,000 through estate planning to charities across the country.
Mike holds a BA from the University of California – Santa Barbara in Business Economics with an emphasis in accounting and a Minor in Sports Management. He earned his law degree with a taxation concentration from University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law in 2005. Mike is not a practicing attorney or accountant.
